BOTRAN RUM COMPANY, Established in 1940 by five brothers in Guatemala, originally from Spain, the brothers came to grow sugar cane and went on to make rum using sugar cane grown in the fields of Retalhuleu, where it is also fermented. BOTRAN RUM Company They then age the rum in oak casks in volcanic caves in the mountain range of Quetzaltenango at an altitude of 2,300 metres, ensuring a long, slow ageing process using the Solera system.<\/p>\n
BOTRAN No.18 RESERVA DE LA FAMILIA is a blend of selected rums from the Botran family?s reserve, produced from virgin sugar cane honey and matured using Botran?s Dynamic Ageing System. Created as a tribute to Don Venancio Botran, it is a sophisticated and delicate rum, best enjoyed neat or with a single ice cube.<\/p>\n
